Proceeds going to Bright Future Orphanage
As an orphan herself, Mama Peace grew up knowing what it was like to have no support and
absolutely no one to rely on. So she decided to create an orphanage where children
of all ages had a safe and loving environment to grow and learn.
Located in Ghana, Bright Future is home for over fifty children ranging in age from six months to eighteen years old.
The children are provided with clothing, protection, shelter, love, support and education.
However, because there is a lack of funding for Bright Future, all of the children are currently residing in Mama Peace's home. Cramped, with little room to breathe, the children are suffering.
The children travel on a small school bus for over an hour to reach their school. Because the bus is so small, it takes multiple trips to get all the children to the school. And to make matters worse, the school is far from being completely built. It is unstable and certainly not the ideal place for the children to learn. They are so eager to learn, but sadly the incomplete school is holding them back.
"While I saw the pain and suffering they have experienced in their short lives, I also saw the strength and courage they have to keep going just one day at a time. They might live in what seem worlds away, but they are closer than you think. They are children with real faces, real lives and real futures. Just as I stepped into their lives, they stepped into mine. And will forever have a mark in my heart and I hope they leave a mark on yours too."
